Revolving Loans
Tallgrass RC&D applied for and received a grant from Rural Development to a small business-lend program for non-traditional customers. This grant provides gap financing through the Revolving Loan Fund to new and expanding businesses in rural communities.
This program was developed to promote and enhance the financial and economic development of rural areas by partnering with banks in communities served by the Tallgrass RC&D council area.
Women in Agriculture
Payne County Conservation District served as hosts for the Women in Ag and Small Business Conference held March 27 and 28, 2009. Woodland Park Winery will be sponsoring a wine tour and tasting on March 27, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. The Conference will be held at the First United Methodist Church Family Center in Stillwater. on March 28th 2009. Topics that will be presented are Bonding with the Banker, Getting Your Small Business Started and Keep it growing, Stand Up and Speak Up, Tools for a Stronger More Confident You, Grazing Land Efficiency, Agritourism: Your Next "Cash Crop" and Animal Health and Nutrition. Farm Bill & the Economic Stimulus Package Forum
Did you know the Farm Bill provides nearly $300 billion in USDA programs over the next 6 years. Did you know that $27 billion will be provided throug the Economic Stimulus Bill over the next 18 month. Then we want you to attend our public forums.
The first forum will be April 1, 2009, 8:00 - 4:00 PM at the Payne County Expo in Stillwater, OK. Pre-registration is $10.00, On-site Registration is $15.00. This does include LUNCH. Call Tallgrass RC&D at 918/627-8101 for Registration Information.
